Over the past 18 months, I've thought seriously about the 'concept' of actually selling my work.
I have resolved myself to the idea of selling my work but not adapting my work for sale. Does that make any sense?

So in December of 2010, I had a show at a little local coffee shop named Zocalo. During that one month long show, I had numerous inquiries from people interested in buying my work. /honored! However, this is something that I hadn't really emotionally prepared myself for... selling my work would be like selling a piece of my soul.

I totally get it. It has happened to me. I had to start making things with the thought that they were for someone else. That doesn't even work sometimes!

About me...
I work in the IT industry by day managing a team of software developers at Stanford University. I very much enjoy what I do. Technology changes as quickly as it gets boring so this career is suited perfectly for me. Categories |
