I'm excited to share that my artwork has been accepted into Lean Into Abstraction, an exhibition celebrating the expressive possibilities of abstract art through color, form, texture, and gesture.
Abstract art has always appealed to me because it allows for exploration beyond literal representation. Through abstraction, I can communicate emotion and ideas in ways that are open to interpretation, inviting viewers to bring their own experiences and meaning to the work.
I am especially honored that the exhibition is juried by acclaimed multi-disciplinary artist Jef Gunn, whose work has been shaped by the Pacific Northwest and international study.

The opening reception will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026, from 5:30–7:30 p.m at 2185 SW Park Place Portland, Oregon 97205. I look forward to sharing my work alongside so many talented artists and hope to see you there!

I'm excited to share that two of my sculptures have been accepted into Color Play, a juried exhibition presented by the Gresham Area League for the Arts (GALA).

The exhibition theme, Color Play, invited artists working across all media—including painting, drawing, mixed media, photography, digital art, sculpture, jewelry, pottery, glass, and other three-dimensional works—to explore the impact and effect of color in our lives and imaginations. Artists were encouraged to share their unique perspectives on color through inventive and creative interpretations. As someone whose work incorporates mosaic, stained glass, mirrored surfaces, and illuminated elements, the theme was a natural fit. Color is not simply a visual component in my sculptures—it is a material, a source of reflection, and a way of creating movement, energy, and emotion within each piece.

The public is invited to attend the opening reception on Thursday, June 11, 2026, from 5:30–7:30 PM in the Council Chambers Lobby at 1333 NW Eastman Parkway in Gresham, Oregon. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet the artists, ask questions about the work, and celebrate creativity with the local arts community.

The exhibition will remain on view throughout the summer, with gallery hours Monday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM and select Saturday openings.

One of the things I love most about exhibiting at Lunaria Gallery is the opportunity to meet the people who connect with my work. Sometimes those conversations lead to something unexpected and wonderful.

Recently, a couple spent quite a bit of time looking at my TerraSphere sculptures display in the April show, "Reflections in Borrowed Light". They were drawn to several different pieces, each for a different reason. One had a color palette they loved. Another featured a pattern that caught their eye. A third included textures and materials that resonated with them. The challenge? They couldn't decide which one to take home.

As we talked, it became clear that what they really wanted wasn't one sculpture or another—it was a piece that combined the elements they loved most from each of them.

So I offered to create a commissioned TerraSphere just for them.

Together, we discussed the features that spoke to them: the colors, the patterns, the arrangement of mosaic elements, and the overall feeling they wanted the sculpture to convey. Rather than choosing between several works, they would have a piece uniquely their own and inspired by other sculptures.

This particular project was especially rewarding because the couple was such a joy to work with. They trusted the process, communicated clearly, and were genuinely excited to see the sculpture come together. Their enthusiasm made it enjoyable.
Art has a way of bringing people together, and sometimes the best pieces emerge from a conversation that starts with a simple question: "How do we choose?"

In this case, the answer was easy.
We didn't choose one sculpture.
We created a new one.

June 5 – July 25, 2026
Albany Regional Museum selected to exhibit two of my mosaic sculptures, Tide Within and Golden Orbit, in the George Andrus Community Art Show at the Albany Regional Museum. The exhibition runs from June 5 through July 25, 2026, with a public opening reception on Friday, June 5, from 5:00–7:00 p.m.​Tide Within explores the rhythms and currents that exist both in nature and within ourselves. Layers of mosaic glass and reflective surfaces evoke movement, depth, and the constant ebb and flow of life's experiences.
Golden Orbit celebrates connection, energy, and the unseen forces that draw people and objects together. Its circular form and luminous surfaces create an ever-changing visual experience as viewers move around the sculpture.

I am excited to share that two of my sculptures have been accepted into Celebrate SCULPTURE, a regional exhibition presented by theARTScentered in Vancouver, Washington.

The exhibition runs from May 1 through June 19 and fills the organization's impressive 12,000-square-foot main exhibit hall with contemporary sculptural works from artists throughout the region. Located in the Arts Hub Project building, the show highlights the incredible diversity of three-dimensional art being created in the Pacific Northwest.

As an artist who works with found objects, glass, cement, metal, and light, I am always excited to place my work in conversation with other sculptors and makers. Exhibitions like this provide a wonderful opportunity for artists and visitors alike to explore the many ways sculpture can transform materials and tell stories.

The opening reception will take place on First Friday, May 1, from 5:00–8:00 p.m. and will feature artist panel discussions, a flamenco dance performance by Aliesha Bryan and accompanying musicians, refreshments, and an opportunity to meet participating artists. A second First Friday celebration will be held on June 5.

The show is ready—every piece built, layered with glass mosaic, sealed, polished, photographed, and now out in the world.
With a tight timeline, I’m especially grateful to have completed 12 sculptures. I worked on them in parallel—beautiful chaos, with the studio packed in every corner.  I’m eager to see how this new body of work is received. Cue the confetti cannon and pour me a glass of wine!

Opening Art Reception on Friday, June 6th from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
Exhibit runs June. 6 - 30, 2024

This is the day I have been looking forward to my entire life.  I have completed my 30 year career in technology and now it's time to work on my life's passion... my art.  With the move to Silverton, Oregon, I have a suitable studio and we have an amazing shop equipped with equipment we have amassed in our lives and now.. before the body starts to fail me... before I lose hand strength and whatever else that aging brings, I get to be 100% unbridled in my art making.  I can take my time, relax, and make those ambitious projects because I have the time. Life is good.   

The next couple months I'll be preparing for my show at Lunaria in June.  I'm so excited to imagine and create new work. 

​So with a month off, there's been lots of time in the studio.  It's been AMAZING. For far too long, I’ve balanced a full-time career in technology with my art, often relegating my creative pursuits and contributions to the art community to “as time permits.” I cannot wait to flip this paradigm so that I can finally pursue my life's passion. I'm looking forward to less stress and less responsibility.  Please don't misinterpret - I have no regrets. My career in technology has been good to me.  It has afforded me a very fortunate life but now it's time for less stress, and more art. 

I have lost some friends/colleagues in the past couple of years who were FAR too young and it has been a point of reflection for me.  This life... it's not promised. As you age, it's no longer about the money... it becomes about the time. Time you'll never get back. Time that is precious. Time that is yours.
